We took the 11 day Scandinavian trip. The first day was the worst to begin with. Why? We arrived into the First Millennium Hotel in Oslo on Sunday (August 21) at 7 AM. We were told that the rooms were not ready, so please stand by. We waited, waited, waited...Didn't get our rooms until 2:00 PM. Unfortunately our issue with Gate 1 hadn't been resolved and we will NEVER use their sevices again and we will NEVER recommend Gate 1 Travel to ANYONE! Gate 1 Travel failed us terribly in resolving the issue via customer service. You never know the type of company that you patronized until you are faced with issues that they failed to resolve. The tour director was terrible!!!

Me and my family just got back to our home of NYC after our GATE 1 trip to Italy. Gate 1 Travel is a scam. I attempted to book several Italy tours with this company and was pushed around for 3 months because they were unable to confirm hotels. I cancelled my trip the first time because the supervisor and the customer service representatives were absolutely horrible. I attempted to rebook again because I was so close to my leaving date because they were unable to accommodate my reservation, and the same problem happened again.... Read more

Pretty terrible. Do not go on unless you are above 55. If you want to actually experience the countries and not see them via bus, I highly discourage this. Also our tour guide, Christin, was so annoying. Every time she wanted our attention, she'd make this obnoxious horn noise. Try taking that for 10 days. Read more

This was my 6th trip with Gate1 and the first time we encountered a serious problem. American Airlines cancelled our flight and then the following flight. There were 10 of us on the 12 day Ecuador/ Galapagos tour that were effected. The late night emergency person from Gate 1 stayed with us as we tried to figure out how to get out of Miami. We traveled to Turkey on a 13 day tour and ended sitting in a bus most of the tour. The tour guide was sick, he was on a waiting list for a knee surgery and because he couldn't walk as much, he shortenes visiting time or gave the group a lot of free time. We haven’t commenced our tour with Gate1 and are already having a second thought about it. We booked European kaleidoscope and made one payment for two couples. We have provided travel consultant Saun Miller with two e-mail addresses and asked him to e-mail any information relevant to our trip to both addresses. I recently booked a 12 Day South African Tour with Gate 1 Travel that was promoted through TravelZoo. After making the deposit, I called Gate 1 to use some of the $375 credits that I had acquired through their referral system and their online surveys. I booked a tour to Italy for myself and my friend. Worked with the booking agent for a long time to find good flights for our trip. I then received notification from Gate 1 that I would have to change my return trip because of a schedule change made by the airline.
